Fae Dcay - Shoe Down

A Fae's Persistent Pursuit

The Unwanted Guest

In the desolate outskirts of town, a lone sheriff fae named Aria stumbled upon an abandoned hideout. The place reeked of sweat, fear, and desperation—a testament to its former occupant's plight. As she cautiously ventured deeper into the darkness, she couldn't shake off the feeling that she wasn't alone.

Her intuition proved correct when suddenly, a figure appeared before her. It was a bandit, his eyes wide with terror as he realized he'd been caught. Aria's heart raced; this encounter could turn sour quickly. She took a deep breath and approached him with caution.

The Peace Offering

"Don't move," she commanded, her voice stern but not unkind. The bandit shook like a leaf, and Aria could see the fear in his eyes. She knew this moment was crucial; if she handled it wrong, things could spiral out of control.

Taking slow steps backward, she reached into her saddlebag and retrieved a small bottle. "This is your lucky day," she said, her voice softening. "I'm offering you a chance to make amends."

The bandit's eyes widened further as he took the bottle from her, unsure of what to expect. He opened it hesitantly, taking a small sip. His eyes widened even more as he realized the implications of his actions.

The Shrinking Potion

It was a shrinking potion—a fae concoction known to reduce the size of anything it touched. As the bandit gulped down the contents of the bottle, his eyes bulged out of their sockets in horror. He began to shrivel before Aria's very eyes, growing smaller with each passing second.

In moments, he was no bigger than a mouse. Aria watched in awe as the once-formidable bandit was reduced to a tiny, helpless creature. She felt a twinge of pity before reminding herself of his crimes. This was justice, served in a most unusual way.

The Transport Dilemma

Now came the hard part: transporting him back to town. Aria sighed, running a hand through her hair. She couldn't very well carry him around in her hands—he was too small for that. And then an idea struck her.

She reached down, her hand closing around the boot she wore. It was perfect—just big enough to fit the tiny bandit. Slowly, she lifted her boot, opening it up to reveal the soft, warm leather lining.

"In you go," she said, her voice gentle but firm. The bandit hesitated for a moment before crawling into the boot. Aria watched as he disappeared from sight, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

The Ride Back

Mounting her horse, Aria felt the weight of the boot shift slightly as the bandit inside jostled around. She couldn't help but chuckle softly. This was going to be quite the ride back to town.

As they made their way back, people watched in astonishment as the sheriff fae rode into town with a tiny creature in her boot. Rumors began to spread like wildfire, each more outlandish than the last.

When they arrived at the town hall, Aria dismounted and lifted her boot, revealing the bandit to the stunned crowd. There was a collective gasp as they took in the sight before them.

"This is justice," Aria said, her voice ringing out clear and true. "And this is how we'll keep our town safe—one small step at a time."
