Mia swallowed hard, her throat feeling dry. "I... I heard it makes people grow," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
The man's eyes lit up, and for a moment, Mia saw a glimpse of the boy he must have been once. "Grow?" he repeated, his voice full of wonder. "How big does it make you?"

"It makes you really big," she said, her voice trembling. "Bigger than anyone else."
