Unaware Breakfast 3
Once inside, she plops down on the couch, still lost in thought. Suddenly, something catches her eye—a tiny figure standing on the countertop. At first, she thinks it's just a toy or a gadget left behind by her roommates. But as she gets closer, she realizes it's actually moving!
With a gasp of surprise, she reaches out to investigate further. As her fingers close around the tiny form, she recoils in horror—it's another Shrinkee! She quickly drops the tiny person back onto the counter, her heart racing.
Just then, her phone rings. It's one of the Shrinkees down on the floor, pleading with her to believe them. But all she can see is a bug—a gross, disgusting bug that needs to be dealt with. She mumbles about getting some Raid and heads over to the cabinet.
As she grabs the can, her phone rings again. This time, she mutes it and starts spraying blindly around the room. Little does she know, one of the Shrinkees is right in front of her—the very one she had just spoken to on the phone.
With a shriek of horror, she realizes her mistake too late. The Shrinkee is hit by the Raid, his tiny form convulsing in agony. Jacquelyn watches in horror, unable to comprehend what she's done.
With shaking hands, she picks up the dead Shrinkee and drops it into the trash, tears welling up in her eyes. She takes a deep breath, trying to compose herself, but another thought crosses her mind. What if the rest of them are as smart as the one she just killed?
She slowly turns around, scanning the room. Her heart sinks as she sees another Shrinkee on the chair, watching her with wide eyes. With a trembling hand, she reaches out to pick up her bowl of cereal. Little does she know, there's a Shrinkee floating inside, waiting to see what happens next.
As she takes a spoonful of cereal, she feels something slimy against her tongue. She gags, trying to spit it out, but it's too late. The Shrinkee has been eaten, and she doesn't even know it.
With a chill running down her spine, Jacquelyn realizes she's in way over her head. The Shrinkees are people, just like her, and they deserve better than this. But how can she make them understand without revealing the truth about themselves?
As she sits there, lost in thought, her phone starts ringing again. This time, she hesitates before answering. She knows what she's about to hear, but she has to try. "Hello?" she says, her voice trembling. "Please, just hear me out."
