The Dragon Princess And The Uh... Regular Princess
By EldritchGTS

Today was a special day for Princess Iris. As she walked down the grand hall of the royal castle, she couldn't help but feel the butterflies in her stomach. Her father, the king, had called her into his private chambers for an important discussion. The youthful princess had no idea what it was about, but she had a feeling that it would change her life forever.

She reached the ornate double doors of the king's chambers and took a deep breath before pushing them open. The room was lavishly decorated with tapestries and fine furniture, all adorned with intricate gold details. The king sat on his throne, looking regal and stern. Princess Iris approached him hesitantly, her heart racing.

"Daughter," the king began, his voice booming throughout the room. "Today, I have called you here to discuss your future." His eyes gleamed with pride as he looked at her. "You have always been a great asset to this kingdom, and I believe it's time for you to take on more responsibility." The youthful princess's heart leapt with excitement. She had always dreamed of playing a larger role in ruling their land.

"I am ready, father," she said quietly, her voice trembling just a little. The king smiled warmly and rose from his throne, walking towards her. He placed a hand on her shoulder, his touch warm and reassuring. "Your training begins today," he said, his voice filled with determination. He turned around and gestured towards the doorway behind him. "Follow me, daughter."

Princess Iris followed her father out of the chamber and into a dimly lit corridor. She could feel the anticipation building within her as they walked. They came to a halt in front of a giant, ornate door. The king turned to her, his face serious. "This," he said, pointing to the door, "is where your true destiny lies." He reached out and grasped the handle, opening the door with a creak. A wave of dust rolled out, making Princess Iris cough. She peered into the darkness beyond the doorway, half-expecting to see something terrifying lurking inside. But all she saw was... nothing. The room was empty, save for a pair of enormous shoes sitting in the center of the floor. Her father stepped inside, his feet filling the shoes perfectly. "These," he said, "are the shoes of the Dragon Princess." He turned around, his eyes glinting with excitement. "You, my dear daughter, are the Dragon Princess."

Princess Iris stood there, stunned. She had heard stories about the Dragon Princess, a legendary figure who ruled their kingdom long ago. But she never imagined that she herself would be chosen to inherit this ancient title. As she looked down at the giant shoes, she felt a strange sensation coursing through her veins. It was as though she was being filled with an otherworldly power, like a fire burning deep within her soul. "What does this mean?" she whispered, her voice trembling. The king smiled, his eyes twinkling with pride. "It means," he said, "that you are now the rightful ruler of our kingdom. It means that you have the strength and courage to face any challenge that comes your way. And it means," he added, his voice growing solemn, "that you must always remember who you are and what you stand for."

Princess Iris knelt before her father, feeling the weight of her new responsibilities pressing down upon her. But as she looked up at him, she saw a mix of fear and admiration in his eyes. "I will not disappoint you, father," she said quietly. "I will protect our kingdom with my life." The king placed a hand on her head, blessing her with his touch. "I know you won't, my dear daughter," he replied. "For you are now... the Dragon Princess."
