The Thief

The city was alive with the buzz of activity as the sun began to set. It was usually the best time for thieves like Jake to do their work; when people were rushing home from work or settling down for the evening, they didn't notice as much. He'd been doing this for years, always managing to stay one step ahead of the law.

Tonight was no different; he was dressed in all black, his hood pulled up to obscure his face. He moved swiftly through the crowded streets, sticking to the shadows. He had a job to do, one that promised a nice payday.

His target was a wealthy businessman named Thomas. Jake had done some research on him, knew that he kept a large sum of cash in his office for emergencies. It was risky, of course, but Jake was confident in his abilities.

After several minutes of walking, he reached the building where Thomas' office was located. It was a tall, imposing structure made of glass and steel. Jake took a deep breath, then began to scale the side of the building like a spider, using the scaffolding as his guide.

He reached the top floor and carefully opened the window to Thomas' office. Inside, he could see the man sitting at his desk, engrossed in paperwork. Jake slipped in quietly, moving towards the desk.

Thomas didn't notice anything amiss until he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up and saw the hooded figure standing over him, a small smirk playing on their lips. "Don't say a word," Jake warned, then pulled a bag over Thomas' head.

Jake dragged the struggling businessman out of the office and down the stairs to the alley. He tied Thomas to a pole and pulled off the bag, revealing Thomas' terrified face. "Now," Jake said with a sneer, "where is my money?"
