A Tiny Circus Trickster's Demand
Power Play in the Spotlight
It was minutes before my big performance, and the house was packed with eager fans waiting to see my act. I had worked so hard at promoting our show, and now it seemed like everything was falling apart. The tiny part of my entire act, the star of the show, was nowhere to be found.
Frantically searching for my little partner, I swore under my breath that they wouldn't cost me this gig. Suddenly, a small voice whispered from the shadows, "Come out wherever you are."
With a sigh of relief, I found them hiding behind a curtain. Picking them up, I placed them on a shelf so I could finish getting ready for our big show. But as I got close to them, a sudden wet mist hit my face. Eww, they sneezed on me!
No matter, the show must go on, but shortly after that, I began yawning uncontrollably. My mouth stretched open wide as several yawns came out, and then just when I thought it was only a random occurrence, I yawned again. What was going on here?
Finally, my tiny partner spoke up. "I can make the yawning stop," they said, "but you'll have to do something for me in return."
At this point, I had no other choice. The yawning was out of control, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to go on stage like this. So, I agreed to their demand.
"Will you regret making this deal with me?" they asked with a mischievous grin.
I couldn't say for sure, but with the show minutes away and my mouth still stuck wide open, I had nothing left to lose.
