Where are you?! - SFX Epic (hd)
Misty Rein's heels clacked against the hardwood floor as she paced back and forth, her heart racing with anxiety. She couldn't find her boyfriend anywhere. The house was empty, and his phone went straight to voicemail. Her hands trembled as she tried to text him again, her eyes darting around the room in desperation. A cold chill ran down her spine as she realized what could have happened. Misty dropped to her knees and began frantically searching under the furniture, her long legs shaking with fear.
"Where are you?" she muttered under her breath, her voice thick with worry. She called out his name, hoping against hope that he would answer, but there was nothing but silence in response. Slowly, she stood up, her eyes welling with tears. This wasn't like him at all. He always answered her calls, even if it was just to tell her he was busy.
Feeling helpless, Misty began to pace again, her footsteps echoing through the empty house. She couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible had happened. She tried to call his friends, but none of them picked up. A cold dread filled her stomach as she realized the severity of the situation. Her boyfriend could be hurt, or worse, lost.
Suddenly, a small glint caught her eye. Misty followed the reflection to the floor, where she saw a tiny speck glimmering in the sunlight. Her heart stopped as she realized it was her boyfriend, shrunken to a minuscule size. He was lying on his back, eyes closed, and barely moving. Tears stung at the corners of her eyes as she knelt down to get a closer look.
"Baby?" she whispered, her voice cracking. She reached out a finger and gently brushed the speck, watching as it rolled away from her touch. Her mind raced as she tried to figure out what could have happened. She remembered him mentioning an experiment he was working on, something about shrinking things. Had he accidentally shrunk himself?
With shaking hands, Misty picked up the tiny figure and held it close to her face. "I'm here," she whispered, her voice hoarse with emotion. "I'm not going to let anything happen to you." She placed him on the countertop and grabbed her phone, dialing 9-1-1 with shaking fingers.
As she waited for help to arrive, Misty couldn't help but feel a wave of anger wash over her. How could he be so careless? She loved him, but he had to know the dangers of playing with such powerful technology. She clenched her fists, determined to get him the help he needed, but also to give him a piece of her mind when he woke up.
The paramedics arrived soon after, and Misty watched as they delicately picked up her boyfriend and rushed him to the hospital. She followed behind, her heels clicking against the pavement in a rhythmic staccato. Her mind raced with what-ifs and worst-case scenarios. What if they couldn't fix him? What if she had lost him forever?
In the hospital, Misty sat by his bedside, watching as doctors and nurses bustled around him. She held his hand, feeling the warmth of his skin against her own. She couldn't help but feel guilty, like this was somehow her fault. If only she had been more supportive, maybe he wouldn't have taken such risks.
Days passed, and her boyfriend remained in the hospital. Misty never left his side, her feet aching from standing for so long. She couldn't help but think about how she'd promised to rub them, how she'd begged him to cook for her. A bitter taste filled her mouth as she realized how much she'd taken him for granted.
Finally, the doctors announced that they had managed to reverse the shrinking process, and her boyfriend would make a full recovery. Relief washed over her in waves, tears streaming down her face. She leaned over and kissed him gently on the forehead, whispering words of love and apology.
As she made her way back home, Misty couldn't shake the image of her boyfriend, shrunken and vulnerable, from her mind. She knew she needed to have a serious talk with him about safety, but for now, she was just glad to have him back. She kicked off her heels and sank down onto the couch, rubbing her aching feet. Maybe next time, she thought, she'd be more understanding, more supportive. After all, he was human, and humans make mistakes.
