His shoulders were broader than she had ever seen them before, and his legs seemed to be twice the size they should be. He was looking directly at her, and there was a strange, distant look in his eyes. She couldn't speak. Her mind was racing as she tried to process what was happening. Her father took a step towards her, and she could see that he was struggling to walk. His massive feet were leaving deep grooves in the floorboards with every step. "Daddy?" she finally managed to say, her voice trembling. He reached out a massive hand and touched her cheek, his touch gentle despite his giant size.
For a moment, everything went black. When she came to, she was lying on the ground, staring up at her father from beneath him. He was still crouching over her, his face filled with concern. Rachel realized that she too had grown - not as much as her father, but significantly. She was now taller than him, with her body filling out in places she never knew possible. She stood up, her head spinning from the sudden rush of growth hormones coursing through her veins. She looked at her hands, now twice the size they used to be, and marveled at the new power they held. "Daddy, what happened to us?" she asked, her voice still shaking. He shook his head, as if he was trying to remember.
He took a deep breath and slowly stood up, towering over her. He reached down and lifted her effortlessly, cradling her in his massive hands like a doll. "I don't know, honey," he said. "But I think we're going to have to figure it out together."
