Chapter 50: Expansion
The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the neighborhood as Lily stepped out of her sister's house. She had just spent an amazing day with Emily, who seemed to be growing more fond of her every day. They had spent the afternoon at the park, playing games and eating ice cream under the shade of a big tree. The thought of it made Lily's heart flutter with happiness.
Walking down the quiet street, she couldn't help but notice how much Emily had changed since she arrived. The once shy girl who spent most of her time indoors was now bubbly and outgoing, always eager to try new things. Lily had to remind herself that it was her presence that brought out this side of Emily, and it filled her with pride.
As she neared the corner, Lily saw a group of kids playing basketball. She couldn't help but smile at their energetic antics. Suddenly, she heard a loud thud behind her. Turning around, she saw Emily lying on the ground, holding her ankle in pain. "Em! Are you okay?" Lily rushed to her sister's side.
Emily looked up at her, tears welling up in her eyes. "I think I twisted my ankle," she winced, clutching it tightly. "It hurts really bad."
Lily knelt down next to her and gently examined the ankle. "I think you might have sprained it," she said softly. "We should get you home and put some ice on it." She stood up, offering Emily a hand.
As they started walking back to the house, Lily couldn't help but notice how much bigger Emily seemed to be. She had always been tall for her age, but now she towered over Lily. "Emily, you've gotten so tall!" she exclaimed. "How tall are you now?"
Emily looked down at her, a blush creeping up her cheeks. "I'm... almost five feet six inches," she admitted shyly.
Lily's eyes widened in shock. "Wow! You're almost as tall as me!" She paused, a mischievous grin forming on her lips. "And you know what that means, don't you?"
Emily looked up at her, confused. "What?"
Lily leaned down, her face inches from Emily's. "It means that I can finally see you eye-to-eye," she whispered huskily.
Emily's face turned beet red as she realized what Lily was implying. She felt a strange warmth spreading throughout her body, mixed with a surge of nervous excitement. As they reached the house, Lily helped Emily inside and sat her down on the couch. "Stay here," she instructed. "I'll go get some ice for your ankle."
As Lily left the room, Emily couldn't help but think about what had just happened. She felt a strange pull towards her older sister, a desire that she had never experienced before. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, trying to calm the butterflies in her stomach.
A few minutes later, Lily returned with a bag of ice. She knelt down next to Emily, placing the ice pack gently on her ankle. "How does that feel?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle.
Emily let out a small moan of relief. "It's getting better already," she murmured.
Lily smiled and brushed a stray lock of hair away from Emily's face. "You know, Emily..." she said, her voice trailing off.
Emily looked up at her, her heart racing. "Yes?"
Lily leaned in closer, her lips just inches away from Emily's ear. "I think it's time we had a little talk about growing up," she whispered, her breath hot against Emily's skin.
