The Thief
In a bustling city, deep in the night, a lone thief, Alex, made their way through the shadows. They were a skilled pickpocket, relying on their nimble fingers and quick reflexes to make a living. As they darted between the crowd, they spotted their next mark - a wealthy businessman, distracted by his phone. With a smirk, Alex prepared to strike.
Alex's hand snaked out and touched the man's pocket, feeling the wallet inside. Their fingers closed around it, and they were about to make their escape when suddenly, everything went wrong. The man's grip tightened around their wrist, and he turned towards Alex with a look of anger.
Alex froze for a moment, staring into the man's eyes. They were wide with fear, but also something else - recognition. The man looked familiar, but Alex couldn't quite place him. Before they could think any more about it, the man pulled them closer and whispered harshly, "Don't tell anyone about this."
Alex was confused. What did he mean? They didn't even take anything from him. But before they could ask, the man let go of their wrist and walked away, disappearing into the crowd.
Alex stood there, rubbing their sore wrist, trying to make sense of what had just happened. As they thought about the encounter, a nagging feeling grew in the back of their mind. Something wasn't right. They couldn't shake the feeling that they had seen the man before.
Suddenly, a memory flashed through their mind. They had been at a party, months ago, and the man had been there too. But Alex hadn't interacted with him then. It was a vague recollection, but it was enough to make them uneasy.
With a sigh, Alex decided to continue on their way, trying to forget about the encounter. But as they moved through the city, their mind kept returning to the man's face, and the ominous warning he had given them. They couldn't help but feel like they were being watched, like something bad was about to happen.
As the night wore on, Alex grew more and more uneasy. The man's warning weighed heavily on their mind. They knew they couldn't go to the police - that would only make things worse. So, they decided to take matters into their own hands. They would investigate the man on their own, try to find out who he was and what he wanted.
With renewed determination, Alex set out to track down their mysterious pursuer. The trail was cold, but they followed every lead they could find, hoping to uncover the truth about the man and his intentions. But as the days turned into weeks, and the trail grew colder, Alex began to fear that they might never find out the truth.
Just when they had given up hope, Alex stumbled upon a clue that changed everything. They found an address, hidden in the depths of the internet. It was a risk, but Alex had to know. They had to find out who the man was and why he was after them.
With a trembling hand, Alex wrote down the address and made their way to the location. As they approached the building, their heart raced in their chest. What would they find? Who was waiting for them inside? With one last deep breath, Alex stepped inside, ready for whatever came next.
The room was dimly lit, with a musty smell hanging in the air. Alex looked around, trying to see anything out of the ordinary. Suddenly, a door at the back of the room opened, and a figure stepped into the light. It was the man from the street, but now he looked different. He wore an imposing suit, and his eyes were cold and hard.
"I knew you'd come," he said, his voice low and menacing. "I've been waiting for you." Before Alex could react, the man lunged forwards, grabbing them by the throat. Alex struggled, trying to break free, but the man was too strong.
"W-what do you want from me?" Alex gasped out.
The man sneered, leaning in close. "I want you to remember," he whispered. His grip tightened around Alex's throat, cutting off their air supply. Alex felt themselves starting to black out.
Just as their vision began to dim, the man released them, stepping back. Alex coughed and gasped for air, trying to catch their breath. When they finally looked up, they saw the man standing in front of them, transformed. He towered over them, his suit now gone, revealing a giant form. Alex stared in shock as their mysterious pursuer towered over them, his true nature revealed.
"Remember who I am," he growled. "Remember what we did together." And with that, he turned and left the room, leaving Alex alone to process the incredible revelation.
