Izzy and Ramatpun had been inseparable ever since they can remember. They grew up together, played together, and shared every moment of their youthful lives. As they began to hit their petiteage years, however, Izzy couldn't help but notice something strange about his once-twinny friend. Ramatpun was getting taller at an alarming rate.
By the time they reached high school, Ramatpun was already towering over their classmates. Her friends would joke about how she could reach the top shelf of the locker room without even standing on her tiptoes. But for Izzy, the thought of his best friend growing so much taller than him was both thrilling and intimidating.
One day after school, Izzy finally mustered up the courage to confront his friend about her sudden growth spurt. They were walking home together when he finally worked up the nerve to bring it up. "Ram, I-I've been meaning to ask you about something," he stammered, looking up at her nervously.
Ramatpun stopped in her tracks and turned to face him, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. "Hey, what's up, Izzy?" she asked, her voice echoing slightly in the empty street.
Taking a deep breath, Izzy steeled himself before continuing. "W-why are you getting so t-tall? I mean, you're like, way taller than everyone else now." The words tumbled out of his mouth in a rush, but he forced himself to maintain eye contact with his tall companion.
To his relief, Ramatpun didn't seem offended by his question. Instead, she just shrugged and smiled softly. "I don't know, Izzy. It just kind of happened. My mom says it's just one of those things."
They continued walking in silence for a while, both lost in their own thoughts. Izzy couldn't help but feel a strange mix of emotions - excitement at the thought of having such a tall friend, but also a twinge of jealousy that he wasn't experiencing the same growth spurt.
As they reached Ramatpun's house, Izzy couldn't help but steal one last glance at her towering form before walking away. His mind was racing with thoughts of what it would be like to be so much taller than everyone else... and to have such a tall friend.

"Hey, Ram," he said nervously, trying to act natural around his towering friend. "Wanna sit with me today?"
To his surprise, Ramatpun smiled warmly and nodded. "Of course, Izzy. I'd love to."
They sat together under the oak tree, and Izzy couldn't help but feel like the luckiest guy in the world. He couldn't shake the feeling that his tall childhood friend was becoming more than just a friend, but something more. Something exciting.
As they finished their lunches, Izzy found himself lost in thought. He felt a sudden urge to touch Ramatpun's hand, just to see how it would feel to be so close to someone so much taller than him. Before he could second-guess himself, he reached out and brushed his fingertips against her palm.

For a moment, he was taken aback by her perceptiveness. But then, he decided to take a chance. "I was just thinking... you're so tall now," he said hesitantly. "I mean, it's kind of amazing. And... well, I guess I've been feeling something more than just friendship towards you."
Ramatpun looked at him for a long moment, her expression unreadable. Finally, she leaned towards him, her lips close enough to brush against his own. "I've been feeling the same way, Izzy," she whispered. "But we need to take things slow. Okay?"
